Editor's Note

It is indeed a pleasure to present to you another issue of the Journal of MSSW. This issue has an eclectic collection of articles - both research based and conceptual. The first article is included as a special tribute to our inimitable former Principal Prof.P.K.Visweswaran who passed away recently. A good number of articles are related to Sustainable Development on which we intend to bring out a special issue sometime later. These papers provide an excellent conceptual understanding of issues such as urbanization, community development and technology for sustainable development. Papers on two disadvantaged sections of society “Kal Oddars” and Institutionalized Children, raise issues that have to be addressed by Social Work community.I appreciate the authors for their articles and place on record my gratitude to the members of the editorial Board who reviewed the articles. I am confident that this issue of the Journal will be a useful reference material for scholars.
